MH-60 Jayhawk Formation Flight

Hovering on RunwaySara Francis PA1, Coast Guard PADET Kodiak sent through some images of a rare three and four airframe Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk formation flight that took place on Kodiak Island, Alaska.

The four MH-60 Jayhawk rescue helicopters attached to Air Station Kodiak conducted the two hour flight in 17 mph winds with snow squalls and temperatures in the 30s.

Formation flights train general aircraft handling skills as well as skills that aircrews use when conducting multi-ship vertical insertion operations of Maritime Safety and Security Team boarding teams.

Further photos can be found at theĀ US Coast Guard website, thanks to PA1 Sara Francis and PA3 Charly Hengen.

How awesome are these?!
